Hero Story combines trick-taking gameplay and personal tableau development. The game is played over 5 rounds, each with 8 tricks. Each round, you add another ability to your hero that makes them unique. You can activate these abilities by charging them with stamina. Additionally, you choose your alignment for that round. With a good alignment, you want to win as many tricks as possible, with an evil alignment, you want to lose all the tricks. During the round, you can then influence the trick-taking game with your abilities and achieve surprising effects. After the 5th round, you will all have written the development story of your hero.
