It enjoyed the hell out of this game. Unique components and the way the different mechanics are combined is simply brilliant in my opinion. It was very inspiring to play this and see how they made use of such common/basic mechanics and turned into this beautiful game. Obviously there is a significant luck component when it comes to the drafting part but it is still so enjoyable. One of the best light strategy games I have played in a long time.
Truly a beautiful game - brilliant play style and a similarly creative use of flipping cards once chosen in a certain manner. Fully recommend for a fast paced, fun Japanese themed game.
I like this one very, very much! + quick gameplay, but offers lot of interesting choices with several ways how to score & great replay value + plays well with all player counts + beautiful artwork & top-notch components, theme comes through (almost zen-like experience) + easy to teach, easy to play, great gateway + easy to set-up, easy to score (you can count on fingers, no need for paper), easy to tear down + small package, ideal for travelling + some interaction between players (not a direct one, but you need to keep an eye on your opponents for sure - what cards, diplomas are they going for) My holiday pick :)
This is an absolutely top class game. Make meaningful decisions (such as when to take cards), hedge your bets on what to paint and when, build up your repertoire. I prefer it with two but I do love it!
This game is amazingly pretty and deeply thematic. It hits our table often because its mechanics are so unique, its little bits and artwork are attractive, and most of all its easy to approach. There's some satisfaction in seeing your painting unfold, too. Really sharp game.
