Minecraft: Builders & Biomes – Farmer's Market Expansion

Very good expansion which adds new stuff that just fits and makes the game wider.

This really adds to the game, whitout much added complexity.. I love the market. But why does the market board not fit in the base game box?? (Edit: Apparently this was a printling misstake that will be corrected in later printing, I'll just have to cut the board to size, the horror!)

Normally I don't much care for expansions - I'd rather just get a new game instead of adding stuff that usually doesn't change the general experience of an old game. But this expansion is a gem! It adds just the amount of spice that the base game lacked. And what's even better: it doesn't slow it down, rather, it speeds it up to hit that perfect sweet spot of playing time.

In short: This is a must-have! It turns a good game into a very good, better balanced, more strategic one. And it integrates quite fluently (which makes me think this might've been part of the original design, and was separated Seafarers-style...) There's only two con's: This still has little to do with the computer game: there's no CRAFTing whatsoever - instead you buy stuff like a tourist. The B-market-cards make-or-break a strategy, as most are worth up to 20 pts. Per rules, the available ones become visible only after the "B" scoring (some are left out). That's ridiculously random! Instead, make them visible (but not available) from the start!

A very good expansion that adds few rules while adding more ways to score and more interesting combos and things to consider. I’d never play without it.
