Pictures: USA

For once I'm grateful to Americans for loving dice games, because I love the Pictures dice! One of my favorite materials to use.

My favorite combination of elements so far. The dice on the warm/cold gauge and the "overhead projector" slides offer a unique new take on the clue giving. I generally enjoy choosing symbols from a subset more than arranging generic pieces, so take that with a grain of salt. Recommended.

The dice set is the standout feature of the expansion, adding a factor of luck and a gradient scale to communicate how well a shape/color fits a card, making it feel truly unique among the sets. The transparency set is also interesting, adding a layering effect that hasn't been before, but is generally reminiscent of a few other sets. Pictures adds variety, which is welcomed, but it doesn't change things up. Overall, a very good expansion.

We do horribly with the dice meter, but we appreciate the challenge. The overlapping transparencies are vaguely reminiscent of the Orange expansion tiles, but they hold their own. And hey, more cards.
