A known mechanism was selected (paper, rock, scissors), one more element was added (the thread), to which was then joined a physical device (the board and the markers, as illustrated here).
A recipe that originated in a game that, played with enthusiasm, "grabs" our attention and makes us lose track of time, match after match!
Beyond the novelty and ludic aspect, Covert has a very strong didactic and pedagogical component, associating cognitively geometric figures to objects and colours, and is therefore an excellent exploration tool in a school environment.
Rules are simple:
2 player with four pieces (rock, scissors, paper and rope)
Each turn players choose one of the pieces, then the confront is resolved:
Scissors wins paper and rope
Rope wins rock and paper
Rock wins scissors
Paper wins rock
The player who looses the round lost a piece, and the game continues until one player loses his pieces.
In case of a draw the pieces will cumulate until there is a winner.
The game comes with a two sided board for playing two variants of the game,.
