Memoir '44: Winter Wars

Winter battles are great. Adding the breakthrough cards is fantastic. Have used the cards with the breakthrough and regular boards; both work well. Also, the combat cards are a great change of pace that allows for some screwage factor to the game. Played the Final Counter Attack scenario. Alot of fun; the germans won 11 to 9.

I love Bulge stuff so these scenarios are groovy. I also like the winter combat deck. Wish they had these for jungle and desert scenarios too.

My favorite expansion. The winter rules add a nice thematic feel with limited visibility and limited vehicle movement.

Got this today and I'm impressed by all of the new weapon abilities such as tank destroyers. I also like the new Breakthrough cards and the winter combat cards. Coming into winter here in Australia so a very appropriate addition to my M44 collection:)

Memoir fans seem to to a little crazy about Winter Wars. It's good for Battle of the Bulge scenarios, but what they really seem to like is the extra cards it comes with that can be used for the deep board Breakthrough boards (which are about twice the depth of the normal boards). These cards modify some of the existing cards in ways that allow some of your units to be "one the move" (move but not fight) while the main ones are moving and fighting. If you're a big Memoir fan this is great, but you can easily make the necessary adjustments to existing cards and play it this way anyway. You can find these rules/adjustments on the internet.
