Fully German edition of 'Above and Below'. A Ryan Laukat game. Your last village was raided by barbarians and you barely had time to grab the baby and your favorite fishing rod before they started looting everything. In the middle of the night, you fled. And you wandered through a cruel desert. You braved icy peaks and crossed a stormy sea full of sharks. Then you finally found it! The perfect place for your new home. But as soon as you built the first hut, you discovered a large underground cave system, filled with glittering treasures, rare resources, and endless adventures! Now you organize expeditions and the construction of your village Above and Below... 'Above and Below' is a mix of building and storytelling game, where up to 4 players compete to build the best village, above and below the surface. To do this, players send their villagers out to explore the cave, harvest resources, and build houses. Each villager has unique abilities, and players decide how best to deploy them. Each player has their own village tableau, where they can move their villagers to the assigned roles. Will Lucy go on an expedition into the cave? Or should she stay in the village to teach important skills to young villagers? Players also collect and trade a wealth of goods among themselves (fruit, fish, mushroom, pot, rope, paper, ore, amethyst, cider, and potions). Beneath the surface lies a huge cave labyrinth, and that's where storytelling begins. When a player sends a group of villagers to explore Down into the depths, another player reads a section from a book to them. What happens next depends on the player's decision on how to react and the skills and willingness of the dispatched villagers. The 'Book of Encounters' is packed with fantastic adventures randomly chosen each time you visit the cave. The 52-page Book of Encounters offers a constantly varied journey into the caves down there with 223 different sections. Through repeated play, a unique world emerges populated with Glogos, humans, the fish folk, and the pig folk. But who is friend and who is foe? Only Above is safe! At the end of the game, the player with the best-built village wins. Game contents: 1 Fame board, 1 rulebook, 1 Book of Encounters, 4 player boards, 81 goods markers, 7 dice, 1 round marker, 50 coin markers (metal coins available separately), 4 wooden pieces, 10 cider markers, 1 start player card, 20 potion markers, 25 house cards, 4 start house cards, 24 outpost cards, 9 key house cards, 6 star house cards, 25 cave cards, 12 start villager markers, 18 villager markers, 6 special villager markers.
