If you don't have any other SFB products, you won't be playing anything as you won't have the ship descriptions, ship diagrams, map, annexes, counters, energy forms, impulse charts, or anything else you need to play. If you are just starting, get BASIC SET and do not get the Master Rulebook. It is almost impossible to buy enough spare parts to convert a master rulebook into a playable game. This $50 product is the RULES from many other products and OBVIOUSLY is not the complete version of all those other products. (It would cost much more if it was.)
