Descrizione

Dogs of War è un gioco settato in un universo steampunk in cui nobili casate competono fra loro in una serie di feroci battaglie. Sarà compito dei giocatori - nei panni dei 'Dog of War' - supportare l'una o l'altra casata per guadagnarne i favori. I really like this game a lot. I've had one negative playthrough of this game, and that was due to the playgroup and not this magnificent game. This game is what Hobbes was referring to when he spoke of life outside society, because it damn sure is nasty, brutish, and (surprisingly) short. I always find myself eager to play this one, even though I have yet to win. This game is so good it may have replaced Revolution! for me; which was the game that got me fully into this hobby and was my favorite game for a very long time. If my house was on fire, this game and Fleet would be the two I save immediately.

This was an impulse buy after seeing it at a bargain price on Ebay. Only played one game so far but it's already top of my "want to play again" meter. The game is mechanically simple and fairly short (~1hr) but provides great player interaction, tense decisions and lots of fun. I was surprised how well it worked with the boys - I expected the game to be too cut-throat for them. However, the spite-levels are really just a reflection of the people playing. Since the alliances and betrayals are evenly mixed, no-one really feels picked on for long. This game should be easy to get to the table frequently. Excellent game!

I feel like it's a little sensationalist to rate something a 10, but the conceit of this game is so simple and hits with the majority of players so consistently. It has that feeling of constant discovery, an element that is important to all board games. Every game feels fresh because instead of slowly demystifying the games mechanics, you are discovering your friends' value on spaces and houses. And that is something that leads to surprise and laughter every time.

A phantastic Game which surpasses all expectations. Very tight Games, the Dogs of War are just Great, the Miniatures are very nice, not overproduced just gorgeous producions. It was a very good decision to add this big figurines into play it fits into the games uniqueness.

Vicious negotiation/worker placement game. Has created some of the most enjoyable memories in board games for me. Always feels on a knife edge with agonizing decisions. I love the fluid nature of alliances. Best with banter and people who can laugh at being stabbed in the back.
