What's not to like, solitaire system and Alexander the Great! Took me five games of Granicus to finally win but I was making a few mistakes at first. I cant wait for FC Napoleon and will probably purchase FC Rommel as well.

after two lights folio solo games i have decided that this will be my next (and first big) solo wargame. in my opinion looks better than f.c. napoleon for some reasons: not many counters means you pay attention with dedicated battle rules. in napoleon the battle looks a bit messy, too much random even for a game with an enemy a.i. why put all this material in a game if it is picked up random and in small waves against you? Alexander looks more clear in his battle lines and more realistic despite the apparently abstract combat. and it is ok if enemy dont try seak and destroy me on map: alexander was faster and this is the key of the game. so i dont have a problem neither with that G
Delightful game, with lots of colour added by various subsystems. Probably the most interesting game on Alexander the Great since Mike Markowitz' Alexandros. The interaction of Insight Markers, Advisors, Prophecies, and enemy strategies is inspired. Fun game, and decent history with broad brushes. The only drawback in the components are the mounted mapboards - useless weight in what would otherwise be a perfect travel game. They warp, too. Have replaced them by colour copies.
my copy of the game missed the Granicus map (i had twice the map of Tyre) DVG mailed the missing map to me and if you consider that i live in Cyprus, then i just have to say: Respekt regarding the game, i taught it to my son, he is 7 i am sure he did not get all of the rules, but he is very much excited about the game real history unfolds before your eyes when you play this one a great experience, a great game
Such a great game, wish DVG would pick more leaders i like so i can buy more of these! drop from 10 because of component issues. you have to make your own counters to make it playable (no way to count multiple plans), and you get a sad little crappy 6-sider, which i replaced promptly. As well, you also need to make a counter tray so you don't spend 1/2 hour organizing everytime you open the box. this crap is minor though, as the game is top notch.
