I have played it last week in Essen for the first time and I was so thrilled that I had to buy a copy right away. There are so many ways to level up your species that you certainly won’t play only one game! At the same time I love this race against your own improvement level – great mechanism! The only thing that is a little cheesy is that small “throne” for the winner that comes with the boxed set. Seriously? Which super enhanced spacefaring species would like to sit on a “chair” as a symbol of their might? But anyway – the game is a strategic goldmine which we will dig into the upcoming weeks to come! Highly recommended!
Top Game, fresh approach, interesting mechanics, a high fun factor and a challenging solo mode. A fantastic brain burner with a pleasant game length. Absolut recommendable !
We have played it 5 times so far. The best game I have played this year. Countless strategies possible, even without modules. Thumbs up
Such a unique game. It's a 4X sci-fi game without actual combat (so more like 3X), which is replaced by a form of area control, wrapped up in a Euro scoring system, that's offset by a novel mechanic of energy consumption. This creates a fantastic tension when balancing our actions, since the powerful ones increase our consumption, making our scoring less valuable and vice versa. The game also looks and feels great. Setup is rather quick and straightforward. The only real issue with the game is the instruction manual, which is a bit inconsistent, confusing and vague. Luckily most inaccuracies have been addressed by the creators in BGG forum.
