Tense, variable powers, and can be banged out in 2p in less than 20 minutes, sometimes quite a bit more depending on AP. I love this game. All I want in the owrld is more everything, as it doesn't get samey at all, but that I think there could be even cooler and complex actions possible if the designer were given free reign. I loved Argent, but it's a long game, so it hits the table less. This is a great evening after work, morning before family time game and it's quickly pushed all other short games to the side. I say this at 14 plays and I feel like I missed a few, but hey, I'll probably be playing at least another 14 :)
I was not expecting this game to be this good. It looks rather unassuming and comes in a small package, but boy does it pack a punch! Great strategy game that doesn't take all day to play with some of the best variable player powers I've come across in any game thus far.
Harvest (2017) was a big surprise. This game took a dry farming theme and elevated it into a cheeky-fun experience with well-polished drafting mechanics. I have to admit that at first, there were some anti-thematic elements that I had to get accustomed to before enjoying the experience this game had to offer. For this type of theme, the game plays fast and has characters with well-refined special powers that are the highlight of this game.
Such a fantastic game for such a short playing time (30-60 mins). Every decision is important and engaging and it's surprising just how much you can achieve in so few actions. The variety of player powers is great and indeed success largely depends upon how effectively you can leverage your particular strengths. And it's a lovely production to boot.
