The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire – Cold War ist eine Erweiterung für The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire. Nachdem die Bomben auf Hiroshima und Nagasaki gefallen waren und der Staub des Zweiten Weltkriegs sich gelegt hatte, bauten die Nationen der Welt ihre Volkswirtschaften und Infrastrukturen wieder auf, und das Atomzeitalter begann. Die Nationen schmiedeten Allianzen durch starke Diplomatie. Sie bauten Raketen und Satelliten und begannen das Wettrüsten im Weltraum. Sie konstruierten genügend Atomraketen, um die Welt mehrfach zu zerstören. Ihre Spione waren an jeder Ecke. Der Kalte Krieg hatte begonnen. Die Cold War-Erweiterung von Minion Games fügt The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire neue strategische Ebenen und Optionen hinzu. Diese Erweiterung erfordert speziell dieses Spiel und nicht andere Produkte aus der Manhattan Project-Spielreihe. Die verschiedenen Komponenten dieser Erweiterung sind in separate Module unterteilt. Es wird empfohlen, diese Module schrittweise und nicht alle auf einmal zu Energy Empire hinzuzufügen. Die Spieler können die Module auswählen, die ihnen am besten gefallen, um ihr Spiel anzupassen, oder sogar schließlich alle Module zu ihrem Spiel hinzufügen. Die Spieler werden feststellen, dass die Cold War-Erweiterung viele weitere Möglichkeiten für Interaktionen zwischen den Spielern hinzufügt und viele verschiedene Wege zum Sieg schafft. Fans werden bemerken, dass einige der Dinge, die sie gewohnt sind, in Energy Empire zu tun, schwieriger werden könnten, aber die neuen strategischen Optionen und Wege zum Sieg erhöhen die Wiederspielbarkeit erheblich.
