Just a thoroughly enjoyable game. very tense at just the right moments, enough slack at the start for new players to learn the rules. Excellent with any number of players.

Beschreibung
Ogni giocatore veste i panni del capo di una società di investimenti impegnato nello sviluppo della sua città, la cui espansione va di pari passo con la costruzione della linea telegrafica transcontinentale, la U.S. Telegraph. I finanziamenti servono a realizzare progetti per la costruzione di nuovi edifici, nuovi tratti di ferrovia e naturalmente nuove parti della linea telegrafica. Ogni giocatore prepara i suoi progetti di costruzione sulla plancia di gioco. Al proprio turno può scegliere uno di questi due tipi di azioni: pescare da 0 a 2 edifici, costruendoli direttamente su un lotto vuoto di terreno e pagandone il costo o piazzandoli a faccia in su nella propria plancia, oppure costruire nel piano di gioco edifici già presenti nella propria plancia. Per ottimizzare i propri investimenti sarà necessario utilizzare al meglio le risorse a propria disposizione rispettando l'ordine di costruzione dettato dai progetti sulla propria plancia, scegliendo in modo oculato le azioni del proprio turno e sfruttando le risorse naturali del territorio. Vince chi per primo completa tutti i propri progetti, o collega due grandi città con una catena di edifici.

Highly underrated, now out of print (I won't sell you my copy). This game is a great combination of a little bit of luck and a lot of skill. Eurogames with a shared space aspect are not as common as they should be. Years Later Update: This game scratches an itch that few others do.

(in canada) very, very cutthroat - at least if you play it right. there is an aspect of draw luck, but it can sometimes be mitigated. Definitely best with 4.

I will admit that I wasn't impressed at first, but now it's one of my favourite games. I strongly urge anyone who has put it to the curb after only a play or two to dust off the amphoras and give it another chance. It's one of those rare games where the luck of the draw is a welcome part of the strategy. I can't say enough good things about this game. I know that I'll be playing it for a long time to come. [b]9[/b] This game has only gotten better with time. [b]10[/b] 5 years and it's still in my top 10 [b]11[/b]

Awesome in 2 player mode vs skilled players, nearly a mix between euro game and an abstract game like go with a bit luck. With 3+ players the game is just bad.
