Descripción

Descripción del editor: ETO (Teatro de Operaciones Europeo) de Frank Chadwick es una serie de juegos interconectados que cubren las campañas terrestres de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en Europa utilizando un mapa y una escala de unidades constantes, y reglas comunes. Thunder in the East es el primer juego de esa serie, que cubre la titánica lucha en el Frente Ruso. Este es un juego para dos jugadores (aunque los equipos o incluso el juego en solitario estarían bien): un jugador asume el papel del Eje (Alemania y sus aliados) y el otro jugador asume el papel de los soviéticos (es decir, la Unión Soviética). Las unidades terrestres individuales representan divisiones de 10-15,000 soldados, cuerpos (del latín "Corpus", que significa cuerpo) de aproximadamente 25-50,000 soldados, o ejércitos de aproximadamente 75,000 o más hombres. Las unidades terrestres soviéticas son en su mayoría ejércitos de aproximadamente 40,000 hombres cada uno, con algunos cuerpos de caballería y aerotransportados de aproximadamente 10,000 hombres cada uno. Las unidades aéreas representan alrededor de 200 aviones de combate al principio de la guerra, y gradualmente más a medida que avanza la guerra. Cada hexágono en el mapa representa 30 millas de terreno real de lado a lado, y cada turno de juego representa el paso de 7.5 días (o hasta 15 días durante el mal tiempo).
