Catan: Astropionieri

The original version was great but the board was always the same, the game was too long and the components too fragile. This edition fixed all of it.

Probably our favorite in the series, as its familiar but with some interesting mechanics involved. Plus, spaceship you shake = win for us.

A brilliant game with so much to offer, luck, strategy, a clever point-system, trading, building, fighting, drafting, traveling, terraforming, exploring planets, solving challenges, and with the futuristic theme of advanced space-technology and intelligent alien species. Amazing! It's just so much fun to play and i always enjoy throwing this absolute gem on the table, no matter how long it takes to place all the components of the game in it's rightful place (it takes a loooong time)!

Love this game. It's very different from other Catan titles I've played and I greatly enjoy all the additional mechanics of upgrading the mothership, handling encounters and exploring space to find planets to colonize and stations to establish trade with. The only downside (for most I assume) is the board is pretty large, so you need a decent sized table to play on. That said, if you do have the space for it and want more players, the 5-6 player expansion doesn't increase the board size at all, it just adds more player components, systems and encounters, along with another alien race to befriend.

One of my favorite games to play. The directions appear overwhelming, but easy to catch on once you start playing. I wish it had an expansion for 5-6 players.
