Katakomben & Kastelle

KATAKOMBEN & KASTELLE is a fast-paced skill game that can be played in two ways: team mode and boss mode. In Team Mode, the castle and catacomb teams compete trying to deplete the opponent's life point markers. In Boss Mode, a team of castle heroes faces the catacomb lord or a team of catacomb heroes faces the castle lord, creating an asymmetric game. The game features a unique gameplay system introduced for the first time in KATAKOMBEN. Players familiar with the game will recognize many basic concepts and shot types. The rulebook explains the general rules that apply to both game modes, followed by a practice example for the team mode, the explanation of the boss mode, and finally a list of all shot types. The game is played on one of the two sides of the game board, with heroes placed in their starting zones and players challenging each other using their skill (flicking wooden discs). The goal is to eliminate the opponent's life point markers to win. Players, controlling a hero in team mode or the catacomb or castle lord in boss mode, flick character discs. They can also use a variety of other discs representing projectiles, fireballs, and more. To make a shot, the player flicks a disc with their finger across the game board. Obstacles on the board provide cover, and shots can bounce off them. If a character is shot off the board, they return to play from the edge where they fell. This is a skill game, and as always with such things, practice makes perfect.
