Descriptif Descriptif

Ticket to Ride: First Journey takes the gameplay of the Ticket to Ride series and scales it down for a younger audience.

In general, players collect train cards, claim routes on the map, and try to connect the cities shown on their tickets. In more detail, the game board shows a map of Europe with certain cities being connect by colored paths. Each player starts with four colored train cards in hand and two tickets; each ticket shows two cities, and you're trying to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket.

On a turn, you either draw two train cards from the deck or discard train cards to claim a route between two cities; for this latter option, you must discard cards matching the color and number of spaces on that route (e.g., two yellow cards for a yellow route that's two spaces long). If you connect the two cities shown on a ticket with a path of your trains, reveal the ticket, place it face up in front of you, then draw a new ticket. (If you can't connect cities on either ticket because the paths are blocked, you can take your entire turn to discard those tickets and draw two new ones.) If you connect one of the westernmost cities (Dublin, Brest, Madrid) to one of the easternmost cities (Moscow, Rostov, Ankara) with a path of your trains, you immediately claim a special cross-continent ticket.

The first player to complete six tickets wins! Alternatively, if someone has placed all twenty of their trains on the game board, then whoever has completed the most tickets wins!

Ticket to Ride: First Journey (Europe) features the same gameplay as the first Ticket to Ride: First Journey game, but with the players claiming track in Europe instead of in the United States.

Part of Ticket to Ride series.

I give 10 starts because this game is a simple version of the main game, and makes it easier to understand and play for young ones. The amount of mechanics and rules is enough to no scare or bore children who just want to have some fun without complications. We always play this game and always have fun. Really recommend playing with the kids or even only adults who just want some fun without complex rules and gameplay.

Awesome game. We are playing this one almost every day. Our daughter is 5 she was quick to pick up the rules. The fun parts are that they have to plan ahead and connect, also the good part is that we are able to teach them to plan ahead.

My daughters love to play this. My 7 year old plays it almost as well as I do, my 5 year old needs help, but still she enjoys it. Because of the pictures they don't need to be able to read. The little trains are appealing, the route building is fun, it only takes some 20 minutes to play, they learn the map of Europe by playing it, and on top of all that it is even enjoyable for adults. This is the perfect children's game, and as such it earns the perfect rating.

Outstanding children's version of the already brilliant Ticket to Ride. Some adults might even prefer this version, given the much simpler scoring and more immediate focus. The visual cues used to help players find cities are also excellent: it's easy to find Paris via the Eiffel Tower or Rostov thanks to the large Russian dolls printed by them. for example.

Simplifying the rules and shrinking the play time of the original Ticket to Ride makes this the perfect choice for any quick play session. None of the charm of the original is lost in this edition, whilst gaining accessibility and upping the fun.
