Overshadowed by storm clouds, the silhouette of the vampire count Strahd von Zarovich looms over the ancient walls of Ravenloft Castle. Thunder echoes through the castle spires. The wind howls louder as he looks down toward the village of Barovia.
In the distance, but not far enough to escape his keen sight, a group of adventurers has just entered his domain. A faint smile forms on Strahd's face as his dark machinations begin. He knew they would come and why they are here: everything is going according to his plans.
A blinding flash tears through the darkness, but Strahd has vanished. The storm continues to rage in the night air. The lord of Ravenloft Castle has guests for dinner. And you have received an invitation.
