Voelkerwanderung! (also known as Barbarian Migrations & The Fall of Rome) is a strategic wargame set in the mid-5th century AD. The map covers the Western Roman Empire from the Rhine and Danube to Lutetia (modern Paris) in the north and Rome in the south. Each tribal leader aims to win by leading one of their tribes into the heart of the empire, the fabulous city of Rome. Along the way, players will see their progress slowed by Roman legions, epidemics, intrigues of the gods, and perhaps even the unfair diplomacy of their companions. No player is eliminated before the end of the game, and even those in last place can recover and win at the last moment. A game of alliances, betrayals, and maneuvers, it is easily played in under an hour.
