Doomtown: Reloaded - OP-Kit 4

It blows my mind how well the game mechanics and theme of this game blend together. The more I play it the more it becomes a game of tactics, risk/reward and tough decision making. Luck still plays its roll in this game but the decisions you make will win or lose you the game. Each session plays out differently, each telling its own thrilling western story, filled with suspense and surprising twists. Together with Earth Reborn, this is the most thematic game I've ever played.

Doomtown Reloaded is an incredibly deep game that oozes theme. The diverse factions, the use of poker as combat resolution, and the victory conditions of the game all reflect its mashup homage to various depictions of the Wild West. This is not a quick shoot-'em-up gunfight game, though beginning players sometimes mistake it as such -- leading to quick and bloody ends. Doomtown is strategic battle to develop and control the town while preventing others from doing the same. And there are dozens of different approaches to take in pursuing those goals. Brilliantly designed and incredibly immersive game.

This does take a little longer that most LCGs to learn as there are a lot of rules. However it is without question in my opinion the best and most thematic LCG I've played. One of the best designed games I've seen and probably my favourite tabletop game to date. If you like the theme it's a must have.

This is probably my favorite card game and likely favorite game. Love the strategy and challenge the game presents in deck-building and gameplay. Really enjoy the weird west theme (was a fan of Deadlands in high school). The quality of the components is great, the artwork on cards is fantastic. Really sad I don't get to play this more often as I feel this game challenges me more than most others I have played by giving me plenty of options through cards and fun game mechanics to win. To me, this game stands out above all others in my collection and to every other game I have played.

...I really love this game. The lore is so beautifully fleshed out, you can see in all the cards how much care everyone involved takes on the project (it really is a labor of love), the tournaments are delightful brain burners, and I love coming up with wacky decks to see what works.
