Band of Brothers: Texas Arrows

Excellent expansion that finally lets me play with normal U.S. Army units. Not that the paratroops were bad but it is really cool to follow a normal division like the 36th.

This game is a masterpiece. In my view it's both accurate and highly playable; a brilliant example of 'design for effect'. It contains a simple ruleset which, from what I can see, accurately simulates WWII squad-level action, thereby enabling the players to focus on tactics and strategy without getting drowned in chrome or drawn into unhistorical tactics. So far I have found the Texas Arrows scenarios, along with the Ghost Panzer scenarios, more enjoyable than the ones in Screaming Eagles.

Band of Brothers is a fantastic squad-level wargame system. Texas Arrows is the 3rd release in this great game system, but this is an expansion and requires both Screaming Eagles and Ghost Panzer to play. Lots of improvements in the latest editions printed in 2023. Updated artwork and rounded counters top the list.

Very nice maps and pieces. I really like the idea of small markers on big pieces. This is the game I'll be playing when I hit 80! Both the morale and LOS rules are simple yet effective. Combat and opportunity fire are both straightforward and logical. The rules summary on the player aid card is great, so there is little need to refer back to the rules. Good mix of scenarios including combined arms.

This one brings both of the previous games together. You get a few new units, mostly armor, guns, and new American infantry, that aren't as good as the paratroopers in Screaming Eagles, but rather than face the bottom of the bucket Germans, you get to use the good German units from Ghost Panzer. You get a couple of new boards, a few new counters, and scenarios.
