Car Wars Sixth Edition Core Set

I loved the Car Wars pocket box and then Car Wars Compendium and other Car Wars 4e material back in the 1980s and 1990s. This new version is easier to grasp and plays quicker. And building cars is still tons of fun. Kickstarter backer with all the sets--love the balance.

I was hooked on Car Wars as my first tabletop game, but it was clunky as hell and I only remember finishing a couple games. This experience has been streamlined to the point where I can actually play with three other players and finish in a reasonable amount of time. The new build points are way easier than chassis/spaces/suspension/weight calculations.

I got my Double Ace box on Friday, and played 3 games over the weekend. It really recaptures the feel of Car Wars, but most importantly, my 9-year-old is raving about how good it is and wants to play it again and again. He's spending the downtime going over cards thinking about combinations for builds, and now he's starting to come up with scenario ideas, too.

I played a lot of 2nd ed. back in the day. Then we all got older and didn’t have as much time to play games. 6e has brought it back to the table and I am so happy. I love this new version. Also, everyone I’ve played with loves it too. A triumph!

The game I've long awaited is finally here! I've been a fan since the 80's but rarely played back then, if at all. I've followed the project since 2013 and this new version is perfect, it still has the soul of Car Wars in a much simpler (but still deep) package.
