Darkleaf Gambit

What a great concept for a game! Rolling dice next to our chessset was something we thought we'd never do. Strategy, tension, an imaginative world with a lot of layers. Really well-designed game play. Super cool art. One-on-one battles. Fantastic game!

So glad I got to bring out the chessboard and play with my wife and kids. We all love it. What an interesting and fun game.

Nothing will replace chess for us. That said, this is an awesome addition for our chess set. There's still a lot of strategy here, but it's not the kind that hurts to think through fully. Adding dice to the mix really created some adrenaline-filled moments as well. A great balance of luck and strategy, strategy and luck. The artwork is beautiful and adds to the game's allure. We love it.

I had the pleasure of playtesting an early version of this game on Tabletopia and the physical version turned out spectacular. The designers did a great job making the pieces fit next to my 15-inch chessboard. Kind of feels like they always belonged there. Gameplay itself is excellent and I love the how the different clans all play differently and have different winning conditions. Easily one of the best strategy games I've ever played.

Waited for a while for this game to be released, and it was well worth the wait! This game is fantastic, seems very well balanced after trying several different matchups. Love the varying clan dynamics, a little confusing at first, but second nature after a few games. We will be playing this game for years to come. Highly replayable, great blend of strategy and luck, relatively quick games. Overall outstanding work!
