Mauna Kea

Help, the lava is coming! In "Mauna Kea" you explore an unknown volcanic island in the South Pacific with your research team, when suddenly there is a terrible roar: The volcano comes to life! Now, you have to find as many artefacts as possible and bring them, along with your own helpers, to the rescue boats at the coast. If you plan your ways cleverly and have a little bit of luck, you‘ll survive the volcanic eruption as the rescuing hero! In "Mauna Kea" each player starts with a team of three to five researchers (dependend on the number of players) and a set of randomly selected terrain tiles in a value of minimum five movement points. During a player's turn, he has to play all his tiles in any order he wants. These can be used in two ways: eather to move own researchers by spending the printed movement points or to expand terrain by placing them on the game board. At the end of his turn the current player draws new tiles. Help, the lava is coming! If a lava tile appears, it has to be put on the board immediately. Then the next player clockwise tries to rescue as many artefacts and helpers as possible. Step by step a landscape with lava flows emerges. The game ends when a player has no researchers left on the island. The player, who saved the most researchers and artefacts, wins.
