After maturing in the summer, the nuts fall from the trees in autumn, then clever squirrels bury them in their secret hiding places to be able to nibble through the stores in winter.
In Purzelbaum, the players slip into the role of these squirrels. In the fall, they let nuts fall from the branches into their newly dug holes in the ground. In winter, when everything is white, they remember the hiding places where there are lots of nuts.
