Furnace

A bidding game at its finest, furnace really fills the itch of a Brass game without being married to the next three hours. It's genius.

I absolutely love this game. From the first time I played it, I adored the mechanics, art, and elegance. It's simple, easy to learn/teach, and plays reasonably fast, but you get your money's worth of tension and tricky decision-making, and then some. This is the perfect balance of light size/complexity, and rich gameplay and strategy.

I allowed myself to give a biased rating, perhaps a little too high, since the author of the game is my friend. But this does not change the fact that I liked the game.

This is an incredibly tight engine builder with a very interesting bidding system.

It brings my favorite mechanic of engine building into a short and easy format making people more willing to play. This is by far one of my favorite games of all time.
