Tornado Splash

holy hell is this game FUN! It's short and sweet, but boy howdy does it pack a whallop of nail biting FUN!

Picked up at Tokyo Game Market. Needs a little bit of table space, but it's tons of fun. The art and character design are on point. The first learning game was a bit long, but from the second play onwards turns went super fast and it really felt like we were "racing" around the track. The fact that you can actually make your own custom tracks is pretty darn cool.

A real-space racing game, with ingenious turning mechanics. The six jet-skis all have different handling characteristics (sadly the pilots don't). The game was at its best when we weren't trying to resolve tiny detail questions like how close to cut the corners, or what counted as being in someone's way. Which is kind of too bad, because squeezing a little bit more distance out of tiny physical details was the thrill of the game! But I still loved it; I haven't liked a racing game as much on first play other than Heat. Even without Heat's staying power, this is a keeper. [6 plays]

Easy learning and funny game. It is amazing when you finish the tracks that showed the speed of racing. Different jet ski has its own specific strategy and makes the game more competitive. The down time is a bit long with high players count. (I tried playing with 6 players, the experience was not good.)
