Barrage: The Leeghwater Project

[OLD] Excellent like the base game, but not so amazing that it increases it's already High rating even higher. I would happily play Barrage with or without the Leeghwater Project. I slightly prefer it with this expansion, but only slightly.

Tolle Erweiterung, (wir spielen nicht mehr ohne) … bis auf Holland. Mit dem richtigen Ingenieur kann Holland vielleicht mitspielen, aber gewinnen, insbesondere wenn alle Spieler etwa gleich erfahren sind, ist aufgrund der schlechten Belohnungsstruktur auf dem Board eigentlich nicht möglich.

I don't play barrage without this expansion any more. It just... belongs to the game. Although it was also good playing before having the expansion

An absolute MUST HAVE!!! The base game has some very tight mechanics and can result in a 'runaway leader' type of situation, which isn't always fun to play. This expansion gives players a much needed relief from the tight game. The 'private buildings' are a nice touch, but are still quite expensive on the resources. The absolute genius of this expansion are the 'external works'. These can accelerate gameplay massively and can counteract the 'runaway leader'. I will never play Barrage, without The Leeghwater Project.

Expands on the tactical excellence of "Barrage" and adds new paths to victory. It does, however, make the game more open, subtracting from some of the cutthroat maneuvering of the the base game. Whether this is a positive or negative depends entirely on the players.
