Ihr letztes Abenteuer hat Sie dorthin geführt, wo Sie niemals sein sollten - in die Unterwelt! Sie müssen entkommen und eine Barkasse finden, die Sie sicher zurückbringen kann. Aber Cerberus, der infernale Wachhund, ist Ihnen auf den Fersen und hat die Absicht, Sie für immer zu bewachen.

Im semi-kooperativen Spiel Cerberus müssen Sie einander helfen, das Spielbrett zu überqueren, ohne von Cerberus gefangen genommen zu werden, damit Sie an Bord der Barkasse gehen können. Jede Karte in Ihrer Hand bietet Ihnen die Wahl zwischen einem kleinen Effekt für Sie oder einem mächtigen Effekt für die Gruppe! Es gibt jedoch nicht genug Plätze auf der Barkasse für alle, also müssen früher oder später einige Opfer gebracht werden. Werden Sie Ihrer Gruppe helfen, den Ausgang zu erreichen, oder werden Sie mächtige Bonuskarten spielen, um Fallen für Ihre Gegner zu stellen? Die von Cerberus Ertappten können Rache und Sieg suchen, indem sie verhindern, dass alle Abenteurer entkommen...

Jedes Spiel ist anders dank zehn verschiedener Spielbrett-Layouts und Ihrer Fähigkeit, die Stärke von Cerberus nach Belieben anzupassen.
