Beschreibung

History of the World erzählt die Geschichte der Menschheit, beginnend im alten Sumer und endend in der modernen USA. Die Karte hebt die Länder hervor, in denen Zivilisationen blühten, mit über sechzig Völkern, die auf Imperiums- und Ereigniskarten dargestellt sind.

Hauptstädte, Städte, Monumente und Festungen kommen ins Spiel und werden dann ebenso schnell von den Armeen der Rivalen reduziert. Die Kontrolle über Gebäude und Länder ermöglicht es den Spielern, Gold zu sammeln. Wer am Ende des Spiels das meiste Gold hat, gewinnt.

Im Vergleich zu früheren Ausgaben von History of the World erlaubt diese Ausgabe:

• Das Spielen mit oder ohne Würfelregeln.
• Eine andere Verteilung von Imperiums- und Ereigniskarten
• Neue Ereigniskarten und Mechanismen zur Goldsammlung
• Eine neue Strategie mit "Bereichsmarkern"
• Neue "Ehrenmarken", die Vorteile bieten
• Eine neue Spieleranordnung

Im Allgemeinen ist der Geist des Spiels intakt geblieben, während Elemente aus den frühesten Ausgaben des Spiels sowie spätere Entwicklungen integriert wurden. "Katastrophe" ist zum Beispiel jetzt eine Ehre geworden, und "Waffen", das immer ein zu starkes Ereignis war, wurde entfernt.
