Memoir '44: Through Jungle and Desert

The Jungle and Desert Combat Cards fit well in older scenarios thematicaly, something that wasn't the case with the Street Fight Combat Cards from Sword of Stalingrad. 8 maps, being 2 Overlord and 6 standard, along with two Combat Cards decks make this one of the best - if not THE best - Battle Map ever released.

I really like the combat cards, and I appreciate this included so many non-overlord scenarios to use them in.

We played the Guadalcanal Overlord scenario with 8 players. It was nicely balanced and exciting. The special rules were well chosen and not overpowered.

A good battlemap collection with some interesting cards to spice up the gameplay. I love the Japanese troops and they get to share the spotlight with the British as they battle in the jungles of Burma. I am not the biggest fan of desert combat, but hey, more scenarios is more scenarios.

In addition to the pre-printed maps, which are excellent (including early-war British against the Japanese and the US against the Germans in North Africa), there are also excellent combat cards. These combat cards are desert and jungle versions of the Winter Wars cards (like out of ammo or jammed guns or "Rat Patrol," which is like a Behind Enemy Lines card that can be used with armor). You start off with 2 and get another one each time you play a recon card.
