Monsters Of Loch Lomond 2nd. Edition

I was fortunate to play this game and this is my new favorite (and I played many card games in my life). The rules are simple and easy to learn, but the game will keep you engaged for hours. Besides that it's fun with friends, kids, parents, grandparents, really everyone and the design is amazing (I love the the baby monster!). You need to use your brain, can use multiple kind of strategies, work together to make sure someone doesn't win and undoubtedly, it will result in some hilarious laughter. I know what to gift my family members on their upcoming birthdays!

Just spent a few hours playing Loch Lomond. Quite easy to learn, yet interesting to keep playing. No round is the same because of the many different strategies you can use. Naturally the main goal is to win each round. However, if that seems impossible, you can also focus on obtaining as much tokens to help you in later rounds. Or even better choose to annoy the others by giving them cards they would rather not have. Great game!

we purchased a Kickstarter copy and played it that day it came in. It was an enjoyable game even though my one son kept telling us someone was changing his cards around… the Fairies, Red Caps and the Broonies must’ve been messing with him that day. All in all it was an enjoyable game, we will be adding it to our box of games, we take with us to play at coffee shops.

We spend a lot of time in Poland and play something there regularly called Sen. Four cards, you can see two, blind draw or discard pile draw, swap cards, try and get a low score across all four and call it when confident etc... Similar at it's base to this. I like it well enough. It lacks punch for me, and there's not enough deduction or clever card play, or laughs. This game brings ALL that, it's so darned clever and fun and addictive. Like many games with cards that have powers and can interact (eg Love Letter) the first few plays are a bit stumbling as people learn what's what but when you (quickly) get the hang of what's what and what might be out there it's awesome.

Mooie combi van strategie, snelheid en geheugen gebruik. Duur van het spel is precies goed. De vele elementen zorgen ervoor dat het spel, ook bij vaker spelen, leuk blijft.
