Being dyslexic I've often struggled with work games however this one I've really enjoyed. The deck building aspect is neat and it has a really nice pace to it. Have kickstarted it's follow up Hardback too, can't wait for it to arrive.

I love word puzzles! If you are familiar with the reflex building words immediately after spotting some letters you feel home with Paperback. Why I prefer Paperback over Hardback: I love the visual appealing coop mode! App: Using it to keep up with English vocabularies.
i overall prefer the various streamlining done in Hardback (this game's successor) but still love that Paperback keeps me concentrated on the game the whole time while having rules which are trivial to internalize and, if desired, customize without breaking the game. My only regret is not having learned about this game sooner. Update several years later: out of its siblings, Paperback is the one which keeps me coming back. Its solo/coop mode is excellent. Edit: after years of leaving this rated a 9, it's only fair to give it a 10 given the literally hundreds of hours i've spent (and continue to spend) playing it.
(I am working on a sequel but didn't work on this one.) I love how this adds some strategic deckbuilding to the classic word building formula. I love words and word games like Boggle or Bananagrams, but adding the tactical elements really gives it the extra oomph for me to love it. Some of the variants are really nice too, like the co-op gameplay.
Definitely my favorite word game. If you have never played a deckbuilding game, you may not understand why it is so ingenious to make a deckbuilding version of quiddler. If you have never played a game like quiddler, you may not understand why it is so ingenious to make a word game version of a deckbuilder. It's brilliant. Always a hit at my table.
