In "The Batman Who Laughs Rising" hat ein Durchgang aus dem Dark Multiverse den gefährlichsten Bösewichten erlaubt, in Gotham City einzudringen, und diese Dark Knights zusammen mit ihrem bedrohlichen Anführer sind begierig darauf, der Stadt das Schlimmste anzutun. Die Spieler würfeln und arbeiten zusammen, um das Multiversum zu retten, beginnend mit einem der vier Starthelden - Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl oder Batman - und rekrutieren Verbündete wie Harley Quinn, The Flash und Cyborg, deren Fähigkeiten Ziele erfüllen oder helfen können, was in der Dunkelheit verloren gegangen ist, zurückzugewinnen.
