Expedition Zetta is a Universe exploration board game for 1-5 players. Set in a retrofuturistic 1962, in an alternate history where warp drive technology was invented in the 1950’s. You represent a country that takes part in the maiden voyage of the first spaceship ever to use this new warp drive. Can you achieve fame for your country as part of the first international team to brave the unknown of space? Embark on Expedition Zetta and make your own history in the stars! The goal of the game is to collect discoveries in the four star systems you visit on your journey to distant galaxies. The player that brings home the most discoveries gets the most fame back on Earth and wins the game. You can interact with the crew of other players during the journey and collaborate with them, in order to find discoveries in places where they are difficult to obtain. But you can also act against them, trying to claim their discoveries, borrow their equipment or flirt with their crew to have them come and work on your ship instead. You experience this epic journey through a number of stages. Prior to launch you compete to recruit the best crew and invest in the most suitable equipment for the journey. During the four warps you generate new planetary systems, based on actual facts about stars and planets in the Universe.You explore these planetary systems, searching for life and substances and an any opportunity to make exciting new products using the zero g/vacuum environment. In between the planetary systems you travel together on the mothership, interacting with the crews of the other countries, trying to manipulate them a bit in order to gain advantages. The planetary system generation is done with unique game component called the Zetta PSG (Planetary System Generator). which consists of 11d12s and 66 doublesided cards. The Zetta PSG is based on and weighted according to actual facts about stars, planets and galaxies in the Universe. It’s capable of generating as many different planetary systems as there are in the known Universe: 6x10^23! It even gives the systems names. It is safe to say that no two games of Expedition Zetta are alike. No effort has been spared in turning the complex basis behind Expedition Zetta into a comprehensive and enjoyable game experience for a wide audience. Accurate science is combined with exciting discoveries and hilarious moments, such as when you manage to flirt with your opponent’s only Life Discoverer, making her move to your ship for awhile, long enough to discover intelligent plant based life for you. Or maybe you manage to borrow your opponent's special state-of-the-art Aether Drive engine only to see your crew having to lend it to a third player under your nose. Or the excitement when you team up with an opponent for a temporal collaboration, and against all odds manage to find a humanoid alien. The ambition has been to make a game that will give you a fun experience with an epic feel. Play-tests show that Expedition Zetta appeals to both board game enthusiasts and less experienced players. Apart from the gameplay experience, a journey with Expedition Zetta will give you knowledge about stars and planets, along with memories of when you for instance managed to extract gems from a gaseous giant in a triple star system, from when you found life in a lenticular galaxy or when you managed to produce time crystals near a super-hot supergiant O-star. Expedition Zetta is a game for 1-5 players. It takes 2-3 hours to play (1-2 hours using the quick-play rules) and is suitable for ages 10 and above.
