In the game Niwashi you are two gardeners shaping the garden of a temple over the years. Side by side. Without speaking.
Because in this game, what you say doesn't matter – but what you do.
You lay garden tiles. Your partner observes. He recognizes patterns, colors, shapes – and tries to understand what you want to tell him. Because you know your tasks. And he knows his. And together you both must fulfill – only through what grows in the garden.
Niwashi is a cooperative game about non-verbal communication, silent hints, and the art of understanding each other without words. With each game, your shared garden grows – and your own language.
How to play:
On your turn, you may lay a garden tile – or move the lantern to give your partner a hint. What color dominates? Which direction do you point him? What could your motive be?
If you complete a pattern that corresponds to a task, you reveal it – and rejoice together.
Talking? Is forbidden. Communication? Is essential.
