Ra: Traders

Adds strategy depth, encourages a few more early bids, and ensures a few more tile markets fill all the way. I had to give away a few bids to ensure I didn't trigger an opponent's investment, which was intriguing.

One of my all time favorite games and it's getting an expansion!? This is awesome!

Essential expansion for RA. New scoring opportunities, dilutes RA tile occurrence (good thing in my opinion), and balances out last player freely drawing tiles to the auction area once all other players have used their sun disks. Will need repeated plays to see if Trader tiles are too powerful compared to other scoring opportunities.

Traders is a well-designed expansion. The ship tiles are not overly complicated, adds more player interaction to the game without majorly disrupting the overall tile distribution or flow of the game. It fits right into the base game and can be introduced to new players in their first game. That said, the base game of RA is already a 10/10 game for me, such that almost any expansions felt unnecessary. This is just twenty tiles and a couple of counters, and from a value-for-money perspective there are better expansions out there. Only recommend for RA fans who regularly get the game to the table.

I like them. Sometimes I use my god tile action to pick one if there are 2 in bed. It brings more of what we love with Ra. Needs Ra an Expansion? No. Is it nice for all players who love this game? It depends. It brings a fresh wind to the game that we all love.
