Cry Baby

I’ve played this game a lot on BGA. It’s an amazing trick-taking game where you really feel like you have control over what’s happening, rather than just relying on luck. I’ll definitely buy the physical version as soon as the English edition becomes available.

Chouineurs propose une mécanique à la fois simple et innovante dans l’univers vaste des jeux de plis. Ce jeu fonctionne très bien avec tous types de joueurs pour des parties rapides mais endiablées ! This is fantastic! Bidding in trick taking games is often my least favorite aspect, but here it is done well. I also love the ability to manipulate your hand after losing. My only complaint is that 4 rounds seems like too many - I think three would be better.

Its a good bidding and trick tracking game with a twist of "crying" that makes possible to adapt your strategy during gameplay or just collect additional point (if you are sure to achieve your bidding goal or just greedy.) Its good that bidding cards are not "all or nothing", but also give (smaller amount of) points for taking just one less/more tricks. Thus beyond the obvious luck and dependence on other player's behavior I feel this game honors thinking. Try it on BGA!
