Truffle Shuffle

This is one of my absolute favorite drafting games. Imagine 7 Wonders: Duel, but multiplayer. Then imagine it has the same amount of interesting decision space but is way easier to teach and can be played with new and experienced gamers alike. This game is a treat if you love easy to learn drafting games that you can play over and over again.

FANTASTIC 2P filler! In fact, it even wins out over Jaipur as my favourite in this category. Sure, the game is light, but man alive it becomes tense (as a 2P game). Is it abstract? Wellllll... ... You do eye certain cards as though they were your favourite truffles. You really do think, "Do not take that one over there; please don't take that one over there; OH NO!". You do grab cards as though they were yummy chocolates on a plate. Either way, at 2P Truffle Shuffle is thinkier than you might expect and tremendous fun. I LOVE it! Add more players, and you add more unpredictability and less control. Not necessarily bad, depending on your tastes, but I prefer two players.

This game is really fun , since it's really simple and really pretty. The mechanics are really interesting in trying to figure it out if you push your luck or just trying to play safe

This is an excellent drafting and set collection game, with a great theme and artwork that fits perfectly. My 2 favorite things are the 7 Wonders Duel style drafting and the fact that you can only turn in 1 order each turn. Without that small restriction, the great tension would be gone as you approach the end of a round, where you have to decide to turn in a smaller order you have or press for a larger one. This is also a very accessible game, and works great as a heads-up 2 player game or with more players.

Just got this and played it for the first time. I'm a chocolate fiend, so what can I say? The minimal relation of mechanics to theme doesn't bother me. I mean, what are you really going to do to make the theme completely integral to a chocolate game anyway? I'm not big on simple trick-taking games, but the theme does it for me here. It took us about an hour, but I guess we're slow players in addition to there being a (slight) learning curve. Great light game to add to a game night. I enjoyed it quite well with just 2 players.
