Hipp-hopp-hippo

The game can begin as soon as the game board is set up and four hippo cards are placed in each of its five rows. These represent the running track for the monkeys, which changes throughout the game. Players first roll the running die and move one of their monkeys forward on the backs of the hippos according to the die result. Then, the color die is rolled and a new hippo card is pushed into the game board. This adds movement to the game and changes the running track. Sometimes a hippo submerges – and a monkey goes for a swim. If a player manages to get one of their monkeys across the river without falling into the water, they can choose a banana crate. Until the end, it remains exciting because the other players do not know how many bananas are in the seized crate. The game ends as soon as a player has brought their last monkey figure to the finish. Afterwards, the secret of the crates is revealed and each player counts the bananas they have acquired. The player who has managed to steal the most bananas wins the game with their monkey gang.
