I won my first time playing. It took a bit for the rules to be explained, but I love the rapid fire turns and actions you can take. The game is also interactive if you choose and the options you can take strategically are very diverse. I LOVE this game! One of my new favorites.

In Architects of the West Kingdom: Age of Artisans, journeymen have returned to the city as master craftsmen, equipped with knowledge of new crafts and tools. The Guildhall has never been so busy! While some apprentices spend time learning new skills, others adorn the city’s buildings with everything from golden tapestries, to stained glass windows. But don’t let the shimmer of lights and fancy wares deceive you. For not all that glitters is gold. In addition to including components for an extra player, Age of Artisans adds the new Craft Cards, a dual-layered Guildhall Board, two new Player Boards and a variety of new Apprentices and Buildings. —description from the publisher

The only game which I have become obsessed about enough to seek out each expansion, and even to begin following the other games in the trilogy, and other titles from the developer. Absolute banger of a board game, so many interesting strategies to play, the expansions are great, and the game-feel of being an honest hard working architect or a slimy criminal architect is great.
This game is awesome! Works great with 6 people too. I find that if the group is all just playing on their turn (you have 5 other people's turn to decide what you want to do.) This game can be set up and played then cleaned up in under an hour even with 6 people which is amazing. I love the change on worker placement here. I think it is so unique and so fun to play. Would highly recommend and would always play another round.
After >10 plays, I thoroughly enjoy this game and would recommend it with 4-6 players (with Artisans expansion). It has the perfect balance of light complexity for beginner board gamers, yet good strategy to build a good engine and maximise your turns. The game has great player interaction - the worker placement incentives and capturing workers is fantastic. Some of my mates lean into their character personalities, roleplaying their high/low virtue which is crack up and gives the game a good vibe. I can't fault the game, it's always a fun experience and feels rewarding! I now have both expansions (Works of Wonders great for solo).
Needs both expansions to make it deeper. Otherwise base game is too simple for me, everyone goes for the cathedral. But the game itself has great interaction all-around. Capturing others' workers and putting them in jail for coins is fun, and necessary. There are no rounds but there's a reset mechanic with consequences. Game end triggers at some point. Has an open world style worker-placement. Some apprentice cards are clearly better than others. The initial card-drafting for buildings is a nice tactical touch.
