Description Description
La Stanza is a fast-paced board game in which players take the role of patrons of the arts sponsoring the most brilliant creators of the time and commissioning the best works of art, all while creating more wealth and increasing their social status and prestige.

On their turn, players move their "Patron" through the different rooms to recruit the characters that better serve their interest along the way. Characters increase the strength of the different actions players may perform in the room they end. Commission the best artists, rediscover the light of the arts, invest in new discoveries and trading routes, promote the culture, build universities, gain the trust of Kings, and create the new wonders of the Renaissance.

Very much the kind of game I enjoy. Fast paced and with a personal puzzle to solve. Not as heavy as per usual with these designers but still deep and challenging.

Absolutely AWESOME - sorely underrated IMO. This game features a unique dynamically changing action rondel that shrinks as users take one time action spots. Additionally, activating a discipline requires not only being in the room (or spending a meeple of the same discipline), it also requires you to hire/fire worker(s) of the same discipline - extremely tricky and the crunchiest part of this game. This game leans medium-heavy, not medium-light, as it turns the rondel action selection and activation mechanic on its head, which is difficult to easily grasp and requires multi-turn planning. Amazingly fun at higher player counts (3-4 players). Meh at 2-players.

Good game where you need to carefully plan every move ahead. Would have been an 8-9 if there hadn't been some errors and a badly written rulebook. Not that much replayability if you play it often but since i don't play games that way it's not an issue.
