Description
A call to arms! An abomination of a beast is terrorizing villages throughout the kingdom, leaving behind a path of death and destruction. The lord has summoned all able-bodied adventurers to return to the capitol and organize a plan to rid the kingdom of this menace. In Roll Player: Monsters & Minions, not only do players compete to construct the greatest fantasy characters, they must also gather information about the monstrous threat looming, and prepare for a final showdown against the beast. The more prepared the adventurers are for the battle, the better they'll do, but that information doesn't come for free. Listen for rumors to gather details for the fight ahead. Where is its lair? What obstacles will there be along the way? What will its next strike be? Players earn Reputation Stars by constructing the perfect character, as well as driving back the evil of the monster and its minions. The player with the greatest Reputation wins the game and becomes the heir to the kingdom!

About as perfect an expansion to a board game can be. More of everything for variety, and a perfect added layer that fits right in and changes how it feels to play.

This is a MUST HAVE Expansion if you love Roll Player. The new Fight mechanism and the great Endgame makes this game Perfect. Yes it adds more crunch to the Core Game because you want to balance your Character and want to prepare for the Big Bad Monster at the End, but it´s good Crunch.

Really enjoyed the addition of the minion and monster battling. Felt like it took away from the market phase a little bit so my items were a bit lacking. Will just have to work on better balance but overall a great expansion to a great game.

The monster at the end, and preparing for that battle, gives the game a new urgency and helps balance the character creation phase in addition to providing a "fallback" action if the market doesn't look interesting on a given turn. Speaking of which, the many new market cards adds a refreshing variety to the market deck. This expansion elevates the base game without reworking the core mechanic too much and gets the balance just right.
