This is a really, really good 2p game with some interesting mechanics. Love the piano action board and the sort of lane battling element of trying to win each opera.

In The Battle of the Divas, players take on the roles of Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi in their fight for operatic supremacy. The objective is to earn more points than your rival, which can be achieved through different strategies: Performing iconic operas in the most prestigious theaters, skillfully managing diva cards, mastering the piano and expanding your vocal range, managing influence over the orchestra and fame in theaters. The game ends when five operas have been performed, at which point players add up the points earned from theaters, the orchestra, the piano, and the timeline to determine who has left the most indelible mark on opera history. Will Callas' overwhelming charisma or Tebaldi's vocal perfection claim the ultimate glory? Only the stage will decide.

An intricate, two player race filled with strategy and an intense, rewarding battle filled gameplay hidden behind the lovely operatic theming. (Gifted)

I really liked this one. The theme is what really did it for me though and did a lot of the heavy lifting on the game. Otherwise it is a pretty straight forward game with familiar mechanics put together in a really interesting way.

Glad to see an overlap of two of my interests: opera and boardgames. This historic rivalry is a nice setting for a game.

Would be surprised if there was any overlap between the opera and boardgame communities, but I like the game even more for serving this niche group so well. Put on Madame Butterfly and had a lot of fun.
