Blades in the Dark is a role-playing game that tells the exploits of a band of daring scoundrels seeking fortune in the ghost-haunted streets of the fantasy-industrial city of Doskvol, in a world condemned to eternal darkness.
You and your gang must survive and grow amid threats from rival gangs, corrupt nobles, and the City Guard. There will be criminal heists, occult mysteries, dangerous pacts, bloody skirmishes, but above all rich loot for the bravest. Will you rise through the ranks of the criminal world? What are you willing to do to reach the top?
The manual contains rules to create characters based on archetypes of various criminals (spies, thieves, cunning manipulators, saboteurs…) and your gang (assassins, cultists, traffickers...).
The game mechanics lead to fast-paced sessions, without heavy preparations, but focused on the heist action.
Success depends not only on skill but also on positioning yourself for the best chance.
You will also find a map of Doskvol and descriptions of neighborhoods, important NPCs, and factions, as a starting point for explosive situations to complete with your stories, to create your own Doskvol.
