Description Description
Thousands of coffee farmers all over the world support their families by using small stretches of hillside land for their coffee plantations. Farmers work day in and day out for very little, but the future of coffee farming is bright. Fair Trade organizations strive to improve living conditions for these farmers by helping them set up cooperatives. This enables them to establish better pricing agreements and take out loans for new plantations, all to help provide education and improve the quality of their lives, families, societies, and environment.

In Coffee Traders, set in 1970s Central and South America, Africa, and Asia, the delicious Arabica coffee beans farmers harvest are sold in Antwerp — and all over the world — to coffee roasters large and small. Work with your competitors to develop the regions you see fit for the best coffee beans while keeping a watchful eye on the market. Construct buildings to help your Fair Trade coffee plantations thrive while enhancing your network for trading coffee. Will your plantations fall to ruin, or will you rise to the top and become the world's greatest coffee trader?

This game has so much to offer. There are a lot of choices so a lot of different strategies to choose from. At first you have to get the hang of it, but it is nice that is is ordered pretty categorical. You have three rounds and in every round you have different phases and you go one by one. Each phase does involve a lot of thinking and choosing what the best option is for you but that is the fun part. Everything is perfectly balanced so that makes it a game worth playing. If you love a long tactical game then I would totally recommend this!

I love the concept of the game, there are a lot of tactics available, e.g. going for the majority in a country, making the most contracts, or expanding as much as possible. The point system is well balanced, allowing the player to choose their own tactic, without one tactic being clearly superior. Lastly, I love the background of the game, reminding me of my lessons of "The Golden Age of the Netherlands".

Love this novel area control game which is thematically right on target as well as blending new mechanics into the system. If you like Vital Lacerta games, than this is going to be your cup of team... But this game is designed for die-hard strategy gamers (not for party gamers or light-weight gamers) so expect to spend a full day on this session.

Had one play on TTS so far. Really, really liked it. It's easy to see there are multiple paths to winning as it's definitely a point salad. It played very smooth and balanced at 4 players. Lots of jockeying for area control, lots of player interaction both positive and negative. Gives a good brain burn. Rewards forward thinking. I can see myself bringing this game out often. UPDATE: Have played this multiple times now. Have taught it multiple times. I always enjoy my plays of it and is probably my favorite game by far.
