It's very rare that a game is good, interesting and fun, but this one manages it.

In Fishing, you try to catch as many tricks as possible in 8 rounds, as each card you catch counts 1 point. You use your caught cards for the next round. If you did not catch enough tricks to do so, you can fill up your hand of cards with fresh cards from the ocean stack. You win Fishing with the most points, but how many fresh cards do you need to succeed?

I have two genre favorites in my life: 18xx and trick tacking (weird, I know). Fishing does everything right, what a nice trick taking game should do and adds enough to be innovative. Unlike other modern trick taking games the innovated mechanics allow a smooth gameplay, without reading too many cards, rules or whatsoever (which is the case for me in rebel princess, although I like the topic and artwork of that game). Most important thing in trick taking is to play it fast, being highly interactive, and becoming more and not less interesting the more you play it. Fishing delivers all of this.
The game is exactly what I expected and my family is enjoying the game a lot. Even my 7 years old son understand the rules and is having fun with the game.
Great game. It's exciting and there's something to think about. We have a great time with the whole Family.
Among the most innovative and enjoyable trick taking games I've ever played -- the catch-up mechanic makes losing fun, and the fact that your tricks carry into the next round result in some unique strategies -- skipping low value tricks while sniping important cards for later use.
