One of my first board games. Mother loves it. Girlfriend, not so much. I don't know, I just really like it. It's simple yet fun. The take that element is kind of there just enough to make this interesting without being too annoying, but luck plays a big part too. Not necessarily in a bad way though. I like how the secret token provide points can be either lots, or small in number. It makes the end game scoring more exciting when revealing these, especially in tight games.

- 55 cards (63.5mmx88.0mm)
Jaipur is a fast-paced card game, a blend of tactics, risk and luck. On your turn, you can either take or sell cards. If you take cards, you have to choose between taking all the camels, taking one card from the market, or swapping 2-5 cards between the market and your cards.
If you sell cards, you get to sell only one type of good, and you receive as many chips for that good as the number of cards you sold. The chips' values decrease as the game progresses, so you'd better hurry! On the other hand, you receive increasingly high rewards for selling three, four, or five cards of the same good at a time, so you'd better wait!
You can't sell camels, but they're paramount for trading and they're also worth a little something at the end of the round, enough sometimes to secure the win, so you have to use them smartly.

A really cool experience for 2 players. The mechanics are simple but easily engaging, with a bit of mind games happening with each move when choosing cards. Not to mention the beautiful artwork on all the components, of course.
My sister and I love games with money involved, so we really enjoyed this one. The camel art is so cute!
I've played this 5-8 times. It is an excellent 2-person game for when you want something cute, low stakes and cognitive load, but still engaging. We often play it as a 'warm up' when we go to a gaming cafe. I love that this game knows what it is, and has a solidly fun gaming loop. It's fun to take all the camels. It's fun to get the exact thing you need. It's fun to screw over your opponent. And the cards are gorgeous.
+ Bare-bones two-player set collection, elevated by its charming theme and aesthetics. It feels like a timeless classic. (played a lot)
