Description
Operation Valkyrie is an alternative and standalone version of Black Orchestra: the base box is not required to play it. In this standalone edition you relive all the tension of the celebrated cooperative game, but with faster games thanks to streamlined rules and new strategic elements.
The conspirators must focus on eliminating Hitler through explosives, carrying out Operation Valkyrie, while the Gestapo remains ready to stop them for interrogation. The game ends with the conspirators' victory or their capture, if the interrogation deck runs out first.

I love Black Orchestra (10/10), lots of tension and excitement, this takes that and shortens it, but the end game is a bit "artificially hard", so the plot dice rolls don't seem as exciting, you can stack everything properly (which is fun and exciting) then go to execute the plot (endgame), and more often than not, not even get close to the dice roll needed... still highly recommend, as it plays in ~30min vs a longer BO game...
Less complex version of Black Orchestra. Similar feel and similar tension to the plotting. Enjoyable game
Great shorter version. Will use this as a gateway game to Black Orchestra. Found it surprisingly fun and a challenge in a quicker version that appears to work well.
A dramatically shortened, streamlined, and simplified version of Black Orchestra. A superior version of Black Orchestra, in my opinion. I don't mind the randomness as much when the game rarely lasts longer than 30 minutes.
i Like this game ! : yes, the rules are sometimes a bit unclear, and yes, there are many historical elements that have been removed, compared to Black Orchestra.. But overall this is a very enjoyable solo or coop 'little' game, with beautiful components and streamlined play, and also a shorter play time : a must-have for me ! I just regret that there are not a short historical presentation of Operation Valkyrie and an overwiew of the conspirator's backgrounds (and one or two more playable conspirators would have be a welcome addition !)
